Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental facilitates bookings for vehicle rental services.  Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental does not provide any vehicle rental services and does not own or operate any vehicle rental companies. Your contract for vehicle rental will be between you and the rental vehicle provider.  The terms and conditions of the rental agreement between you and the rental vehicle provider are available on this web site when you select the vehicle type and insert the other relevant information.  Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental makes no warranty or representation in relation to any rental vehicle provider or any vehicle rented by any rental vehicle provider. It is the rental vehicle provider’s sole responsibility to provide you with a rental vehicle rented on this web site. 

Fees and Charges
The Administration Charge which Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental charges is non refundable in all circumstances. It is the responsibility of the rental vehicle provider to process your reservation correctly. The accuracy of any quote for renting a vehicle provided by this web site and any booking made on this web site depends on the details you provide on this web site.

LIABILITY
In the event of a dispute between Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental and you, our liability to you, if any, is limited to the amount of the Administration Charge you paid when booking the vehicle.

Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental hereby excludes to the fullest extent permitted by law any warranties (whether express or implied), as to the quality, completeness, performance or fitness for a particular purpose of (i) any vehicle booked using this web site and (ii) this web site and any of its contents, including, but not limited to, any information relating to vehicle rentals contained within this web site and the technology supporting and provided on this web site.  Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental reserves the right to make alterations to the web site at any time.  The information on this web site is updated from time to time. By using this web site you acknowledge that the rental details and all other information including, but not limited to, information relating to travel and holidays published on this web site may include inaccuracies or typographical errors.

Any booking you make for vehicle rental on this web site is made with a rental vehicle provider and not Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental. Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental and this web site only facilitate the making of reservations with the rental vehicle provider. Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental is not a party to the contract between you and the rental vehicle provider and has no responsibility or liability (directly or indirect) to any party in respect of the terms of your contract with the rental vehicle provider or any problems arising with the vehicle rented pursuant to that contract or any other problems between you and the rental vehicle provider. On making a booking for a vehicle rental on this web site you are bound by and deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions of the relevant rental vehicle provider.

BOOKING CONDITIONS
Please read the following conditions which apply to reservations/bookings made by you for vehicle rental through this web site.

Making a Booking
On making a booking, you shall pay a non-refundable Administration Charge (usually €4.95) and a booking deposit (usually 15% of the cost of renting the vehicle). You are responsible for paying the balance owing to the rental vehicle provider and for payment of any additional services/costs requested by you and you are responsible for any other service charges applied by said rental vehicle provider. You must use a credit card or debit card to avail of the service provided by this web site. Please note that not all rental vehicle providers will accept debit cards. On making a booking with your credit or debit card through this web site, you agree that if the booking is cancelled less than 24 hours before the rental of the vehicle is due to commence pursuant to a booking made on this web site, the monies transacted (booking fee and deposit) will be retained by Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental and will not be refundable. If you need to make any alterations to your booking Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental must be contacted here clearly informing Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental of the precise details of such alteration. Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental does not guarantee said alterations can be processed; however every effort will be made to meet with a favorable outcome. On making a booking/reservation it is your responsibility to inform the rental vehicle provider if necessary of any physical or mental condition relevant to vehicle rental. In the event of an accident, there may be insurance implications if you fail to inform the rental vehicle provider of the condition.

Confirmation of Booking
When your booking is confirmed, Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental will issue the booking confirmation on behalf of the rental vehicle provider for each booking, but does not undertake to include charges for additional services or details of the service charge or taxes charged by the rental vehicle provider or additional services requested by you at the collection point. Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental recommends that you thoroughly check the details of the booking e.g. country, location and period of rental. If there are any discrepancies, you should immediately contact Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental here clearly informing Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental of the exact details of such discrepancy. Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental advises that you read and comply with the rental vehicle provider’s terms and conditions (which are available on this web site but may be changed by the rental vehicle provider from time to time) upon which the rental vehicle provider makes the reserved vehicle available to you upon receipt of the booking confirmation. The reservation numbers included on the booking confirmation should be quoted in all enquiries, cancellation or modification of the booking.

Cancellations
Cancellation of a booking must be made a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours before the rental of the vehicle is due to commence pursuant to a booking made on this web site. If you wish to cancel a booking, the only accepted method is by clicking here and following the cancel booking procedure. In the event of a cancellation (notice of which is received by Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental at least twenty-four (24) hours before the rental of the vehicle is due to commence pursuant to a booking made on this web site) all funds except the non-refundable Administration Charge, will be reimbursed. In the event of a cancellation (notice of which is received by Car Trawler / Cavan Car Rental less than twenty-four (24) hours before the rental of the vehicle is due to commence pursuant to a booking made on this web site) all funds except the non-refundable Administration Charge and the booking deposit, will be reimbursed.

NO LIABILITY IN CREDIT CARD OR DEBIT CARD TRANSACTIONS
ArgusCarHire.com makes all reasonable efforts to ensure that all credit card and debit card transactions are secure. Rental Conditions of CarTrawler

Bookings are done through CarTrawler in association with Cavan Car Rental.

Car hire terms and conditions can differ from country to country, Car Rental supplier to supplier and vehicle to vehicle, always consult the specific Rental Conditions relating to your rental quotation. On the quotation page (Step 2) of our booking process you can find the rental conditions by clicking the icon located to the right of the car type. You can also find them on the third and final step of the booking process (Step 3) - at the bottom of the confirmation page.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

This means your liability for damage caused to the rental vehicle is relinquished if it is involved in a collision. The waiver is limited to a certain amount and often excludes glass (windows etc.), tyres and any towing. The waiver usually carries an excess/deductible of a certain amount; this means that the renter will be liable for a certain amount e.g. In France the amount for some vehicles is €450.

Vehicle Theft Waiver

This removes or reduces the renter’s liability for the attempted theft or theft of the rented vehicle. The waiver may carry an excess/deductible amount, which means that the renter will be liable for a certain amount of the value of the vehicle damaged or stolen, for example up to first £2,000 of the damage.

SAFETY TIP: It is recommended that you remove the identifying tag that is usually on the key ring of the vehicle and store it safely elsewhere.

If the vehicle is stolen and the renter cannot return the key i.e. the renter was negligent and left the key in a prominent and vulnerable location, the renter may be liable for the full cost of the vehicle.

Liability Insurance

Every country has a minimum amount of insurance needed for someone to be permitted to drive. This covers the renter’s liability for any damage caused to other people and⁄or other people’s property. It is usually limited to a maximum of €1,000,000. The insurance is limited and there may be excess i.e. you may be liable for any amount over and above the value of the insurance.

Premium Location/Airport Fee

These are fees charged at some locations to cover the costs of services in the location.

VAT Local Tax

This is a tax applied by the government on car rental and the percentage (%) varies from country to country.

Road Fund Tax / VLF

This is a charge applied by rental companies to cover the cost of vehicle licensing.

Unlimited Mileage

Unlimited mileage is included in our rates. Many other companies charge this for accelerated vehicle depreciation.

Break Down Assist

All the vehicle suppliers have national assistance should the renter require it. Please ask at your local desk for the number and contact details at the time of rental.

Cancellation Procedure Explained

Renters wishing to cancel their booking must do so by calling us no less than 24 hours before the collection of the rental is due. CarTrawler will not accept cancellations by email.

If the rental is cancelled within the procedure guidelines, CarTrawler will refund all charges to the credit ⁄ debit card number supplied when booking
